any way of removing ones that dont work, typing your i get youp first and its probably when i spelt it wrong by mistake once...?
predictive text words?
AFAIK you just have to type "your", change it to the correct word, do a space, then repeat. Do this four or five times then it will default back to the proper word. This is a pain though, sometimes it 'learns' the new word after one incorrect spelling!
Liam, check this linky out... full write up. 😉
thank you.
Ive tried it but keep getting youp instead of your no matter how many times i spell it correctly using the spell fucnction. Ive done it about 20 times and still get youp not the end of the world.
Think dictionary gets reset with firmware updates anyway
No you don't keep pressing # until you get to 'spell'. Spell it once, so it's in the dictionary, and then type the word, press # until your word appears, then do a space, and repeat. You should only use 'spell' at the very start to get the word in the dictionary. After a few word space word space goes it will work.
Yep, this worked for me, from another forum:
"Recently I added a custom word to my phone and now it appears everytime I want to type a much more common word, resulting that now I have to press the next word button thing. Annoying extra clicks! I found this method from
Editing Entries in the T9 Dictionary Thoughts on S60 to solve it.
Open a blank text message and skip down to the message field.
Type the word that appears incorrectly.
Press the “+” key (”*”😉 until the correct word appears.
Press the “Space” key (”_”/”0″😉 and repeat a good few times, up to 15 or 16. This method usually takes a couple more corrections, but should work in the end."
I had 3 words on my N85 that were messed up and one of them took a good 40 tries til it reset itself!
Happy now though, no more problems 😊
Or just delete the `\Predic' folder in Y-Browser or similar.
