S60 3.1 (E71) Calendar - Free, Busy, Out of Office

Guys

I've moved to Symbian after a long time on Win Mobile, so this might be an obvious question...

When I create appts on my device (or when I sync them from my Exchange server) they don't seem to have a field for marking it as Tentative, Free, Busy or Out Of Office.

Am I missing something?

Unfortunately not. The calendar functionality is one area where S60 is definitely weaker than Win Mob, especially when you add in something like Papyrus.

There is Papyrus for S60 as an alternative but last time I tried it it was very unstable.

I've actually found myself carrying two devices for the last 6 months, a Samsung i600 for calendar and email, and an N95 for phone, nav, multimedia, and everything else.

I had hoped that an e71 would be able to replace both devices but it's starting to look like that's not the case.

Good to see you over here though Chuckie. Do you still hang out at Modaco too?

Hi xerxes

I can live without Free and Busy, I just need to adjust the way I use my calendar.

I'm not about to start carrying two devices, and so far the E71 is better for my requirements than Windows Mobile (or the devices I used anyway)

I still pop in to Modaco, but not as often. I've still got 2 WM devices, I just couldn't face buying another one and being disappointed again.

I know what you mean. I have vowed not to buy another WM device (although the new Touch HD might be able to turn my head!).

I have finally managed to make my N95 sync over the air with my company's SyncML based calendar suite so it's looking like I might be able to ditch the Samsung and replace my N95 with a E71 after all.

How are you finding the E71 now that you have been using it for a few weeks?
