N95-3 US Shuts down randomly.

I recently got a N95-3 US (RM-160). I am running firmware 20.2.011.

My phone randomly shuts off. The screen slowly fades then loses power. I have to turn the phone back on afterwards. I checked the battery and it has a full charge and is an offical nokia battery.

Does anyone else with this phone have this problem? I read about some people with my firmware version having the issue. I have tried replacing the battery already and no luck. It loses power totally randomly so it's so hard to figure out the cause.

Also the new firmware out v30, that is just for the N95-1 & 8g model and not mine correct?

I am running V20 on my N95-3 (Had to upgrade it to that version) and I absolutelly have not those problems that you mention. I would say you should bring it to the SAT, it sounds like a hardware problem to me at least. Have you tried a Hard Reset? Regards

Turns out the battery isn't a tight enough fit with the back covering it. I had to wedge in something to keep it from moving. That solved the problem.

Does NOT mean it's infallible.

Try a cheap market job battery for 7.99 or whatever they cost now. If it solves your problem then purchase a new battery. Faulty battery's can show all sings of randomness but the last time mine was doing this it turned out to be battery.

He's already fixed it! 😉 post above yours.

Yeah that's what you get for coming back to forums ages after you opened the tab 😉

either way it was power related which is what the symptoms suggested 😊
