Unlocking question

Hi everyone, I've just got a N95 8GB from UK. It's locked to Vodafone, I thought it would be ok because I'm with Vodafone as well. But when my Vodafone (czech republic) card is inserted it says: Invalid SIM card. What should I do to unlock it?
So please help me N95 gurus solve this problem.
Thx a lot in advance 😊

If it is locked to Vodafone UK, you need Vodafone UK to provide an unlocking code to use a SIM card even from another Vodafone country operator.

So only solution is communication with Vodafone UK? Will they be helpful? There is no code generators or such things?

only the networks have the code gens/ so thats your only route.

They will be helpfull as they will want 20 if things arent out of contract.

I did and they want me to buy vodafone UK sim card and pay 20 pounds because I'm not from UK. I'm using Vodafone for few years (Australia, Czech Republic) so I thought they'll be more helpful. That is why I'm looking for alternative.

Ahhh right... thats possibly the only route then.

You might be able to get a sim for free or at least a couple of pounds and then call them in the same way...

Its pretty well strapped down getting the codes that I hear of for the BB5 set.

Ussualy these types of thing are done by hand but i have found a website that actually does it... It allows you to choose model and even country.....

It worked for my uncle who went to spain and bought a sim there....

here it is **removed**

I just got little plastic piece called Sim Ulock Card. I put it under the Sim and it works like a charm.

My apologies, it doesn't work. Only thing you can do after you put that plastic thing in the phone is making a calls, you can't receive them or send msgs.
This thing was made for iPhone 3G and works with that. Not fully suitable for N95 8gb

Go to ebay and search for x-sim unlock

These devices appear to bo compatible with most Nokias, including the N95 and should work on another mobile in the furture if you buy another locked handset.
