Nokia 6220 Classic supply problems solved?

The 6220 Classic was officially released several months ago, but in real life there seem to have been severe supply problems in many countries including Finland, and it's actually been relatively difficult to get one compared to other recent S60 models. However, the Finnish online electronics shop Verkkokauppa now has the 6220 Classic listed as in stock for the first time, which possibly signifies the end of the shortages.

Read on in the full article.

The situation with the 6220 has been very unusual, it's the only Nokia model this year that Verkkokauppa didn't get in stock straight away, and delays of months after the release date are very very rare indeed.

I wonder what the problem was, maybe firmware difficulties as suggested earlier?

Can anyone answer 2 questions please?

1.) Rumour has it, and it looks like, the video recording is not at 640 X 480 as the specs, reviews, Nokia etc would have you believe, but actually at 320 X 240 which is then played back (upscaled) to 640 X 480. Demo vids on the net doing a comparison between other S60 devices with allegedly the same specs and the 6220 show 6220 vids as have much more jagged edges on straight lines, like a 320 X 240 video. Anyone shed any light on this please?

2.) What in fact has actually happened to the 3.23 firmware that was withdrawn?

Seems they have had several issues with the fabrication (shutter not fully opening, loose numpad, etc). I just got one from a new batch and this one has a battery cover that simply doesnt fit (there's an opening of a few mm on the bottom when i snap it on firmly).

Yeah, I've been reading a lot of complaints regarding the build quality (keypads that breaks after just some weeks of usage and so on), and hoped that the new batch would solve it. But I guess that's not the case 😞
