How to install new version of OS ?

2 replies · 5,457 views · Started 12 February 2003

I've only just got my 9210i, so I haven't a clue about anything (9210 related, that is  ), but a friend has the same model (and knows as little as I do!), however, his OS is in Finnish. He has asked his company's IT dept if they can install the English version, but they haven't got a clue - as they just supplied the phone & don't know anything more than the average user.
So... how would go about getting the OS in English ?
Would he need to go to a phone shop & have to pay, or is there a more DIY method, i.e. download it from somewhere & install-it-yerself using a PC ?

any pointers would be gratefully received.

cheers,

Rob.

Rob,

I got my 9210 as a gift from my wife.

The Language was in Italian and I switched to English by Upgrading the software version to a Nokia Service Center.

You shoul go visit NOKIA, because this is the only way.

You wil have also latest Software version installed on your 9210

Thanks, I also read several othe rposts relating to upgrading the firmware, so it look sat if my mate needs a visit into town - It's not for me, mine came with the English OS v5.54(5) anyway (my company's policy is that English is the offical language, where as where he works, it's Finnish.

I've only had mine for about a month & so am only just snuffling around it !

Rob.
