Hi Guys,

My university's wi-fi uses a cisco VPN client. I have tried for hours to configure Nokia's VPN software, and I also tried NCP VPN client, but I could not get either to work. Either they are not compatible with Cisco or I just do not have the right configurations. Does anyone have any knowledge on VPN clients? I know there are older posts on this but they do not seem to be of much help.

Thanks

I know my group name and password, as well as my actual username and password. I need both to log in. In Nokia's VPN client I edited the group name and password in the .pol file but still I cannot connect. And yes I successfully signed my sis file.

I have this problem since long time. Could not find even one good solution.
So we have changed our log in to a SECURE ID RSA ( changing key+ PW) on the server. This gives you a SSL connection. It is fast and runs on my N95 and E61 very well, because you just log in over the internet without any additional software on your mobile. It is platform independant and can be use with any browser (PC, PDA, smartphone etc....) However, this helped me in my private network environment but if you have to go for external VPNs like Universities and others it will not help you.
Now we have decided to write a JAVA VPN client by ourselves. Hope we can get a beta in some days.
If you are intereste in this, I can send you the software when it is available.
But I must remind you that I can not guarantee for any functions or take over any liabilities for the security of your phone.

yes that would be great thanks. yeah it is irritating that the N95 is such a prestigious phone and that VPN does not work. I will keep trying to mess with the config files...I am trying to configure the NCP vpn software for symbian but i have not gotten it to work yet...when do you think this Java VPN will be ready?

best,
