Hi all,
I have a Innov8 i8510 and I desperately need help to access the settings for Route 66 / Mobile 8. I have tried everything that I know, but no luck. The navigation ect. works fine, but I would like to change miles to kilometers ect. Where do I, or how do I access the settings to change all this.
What I want to know is this. Where do I find the following : Main menu > Settings > General >
Thanks again.
In the Route 66 application, the left softkey is market Options - if you click this, then scroll down, you'll find a settings option.
Is there anyone out there that owns an Innov8 i8510 that was able to open the "options" menu for Mobile 8 / Route 66 so that you can access the settings menu.
If so, please let me know how. This is really frustrating.
Hi there.
I have read your post and I appreciate the reply, but!
When I start the Mobile 8/ Route 66 application, it all works fine up until the point that I press the top left soft key that is marked as "options" on the screen display. When I push this key, it takes me back to the standby screen. Is there anyway to sync the keys to the Mobile 8/ Route 66 application? I have honestly tried everything, like changing the shortcut for that key ect but it just will not open the options menu.
If it's taking you back to the standby screen, then something is very wrong.
Forgive this question, but are you sure you're pressing the left softkey and not the main menu key (which is silver)?
If you are pressing the correct key, once you're back in the standby screen (what does that look like, btw?) is Route 66 still running? You can get a list of running apps by pressing and holding the main menu key.
If it's not running, then your problem is that Route 66 is crashing. I would recommend resetting the phone to the factory defaults to try to fix this.
Hi, and thanks for the reply.
I am using the top left black Soft key ( not the left silver menu key ). When I am in the Mobile 8 application I have the map displayed and the GPS information displayed at the bottom in blue, together with an exit in black on the right and options in black on the left.
When I push the top left black Soft key just under options, it takes me back to the Mobile 8 / Route 66 application icon. I checked all open applications and the only two that are displayed as open are the menu and standby icons. The Route 66 is no longer running.
I did as you said and reset the phone to its original factory settings, re-installed the Route 66 application and started all over again, with the same result.
Do you think my phone is faulty? Other than that problem, the soft key functions perfectly.

Hi,
I'm running into the exact same issue.
Did anyone find a fix for this?

Long time reader and thank you all for the tips and guides....
Anyway, I solved the problem with the setting in Route66 closing the app...
I removed the memory card and uninstalled Route66.
I downloaded the Mobile 8 update version from the Samsung Route 66 site (this file is about 147 Megs).
Set the phone in mass storage. Execute the program and select the mass memory. Once installation is completed, set the pc suite option in the phone.
Open file manager and in the mass memory find and install mobile 8 sis file. Once installed, the program will be in the apps folder... Run it once, let it start and then exit.
Connect the phone to mass storage again and this time run Route 66 sync program. Purchase (trial 14 days or full purchase) your desidered map, download and transfer it to the phone mass memory.
All done...
It works like a charm now...
Route66 just released an update : Version 8.0.16821
This solves this issue.
I installed this update and the 'settings' work now.

That is really great!!! Thanks for the info, working 100% now. Just a hint, I tried to install as they tell u, in the card, but it crashed and the Route 66 sync wasnt recognizing the phone as connected... if it happens do the same proccess using mass memory.
