Hi, I am not exactly up to speed with all this stuff, but after my N95 I decided to get an i8510 as I used the camera/video on it loads to put stuff on my son's website (www.edwardbright.eu). I am well happy with the phone (16gb version) and so was the wife, so much so, she made me go get her one!!! (on my contract). I have noticed that we have different software versions- mine is hh6 custom version hh6 13/08/08 and hers is hh7 custom version hh8 20/08/08. Can anyone tell me what if any differances there will be between the two, I can't switch phones with her as hers is 8gb.....

Software Version?
HH7 is newer than HH6 and presumably HH8 will be newer than HH7. For whatever reason known best to Samsung, all 16GB models seem to have shipped with HH6 whereas all 8GB models have shipped with HH7.
HH7 has some bug fixes over HH6; presumably HH8 will include even more.

My 8GB one has HH9 with dat 29/08/2008.
Hopefully Samsung will let us update to HH9. The upgrade functionality is already in the phone, we just need a server address.
My 16GB version is HH6 as well, wonder what the differences are between the versions and when will we be able to update?

I have an 8GB with the HH7 release.
On the samsung website there is a tutorial for the 16GB version that shows "widgets" that allow you to customise your standby screen by dragging whatever widgets you like onto it.
Does anyone have this functionality in the UK? If so, what version are you running? I'm really looking forward to that feature.
So HH9 is dated 29/08 - unless this is just ab operateor branded version (unlikely) then it shows that Samsung did two firmware builds in the space of 9 days (as HH7 is dated 20/08)
Hopefully we'll be hearing something from Samsung soon regarding proper firmware updates

My 8gb is also HH9 dated 29/08
