Questions on MP3 files

Okay; who are you guys doing this?

ALl this people bragging about MP3 playing and games and applications but, where do you manage to store this stuff?

An average song on Mp3 is around 3 to 5 megs, ONE SONG! an album gets up to 50 Megs. So where is everybody storing this songs and games? I mean what's the use of an MP# player if we can only store 1 or 2 songs at a time?

I am MAC user and was trying to reduce the quality and size of MP3 but I either don't know how to, or there's no way. I use ITUNES and Quicktime Pro. I even tried making an MP3 song a WAV file, it still takes 3 MEGS.

If anybody knows how to reduce the size of the file, even if it means taking away quality, please help

Either buy a bigger Duo card, or downsample using MP3 Sound Cutter from www.download.com , Choose open to open the file, then hit export and it will give you the option converting to Wav (Useful for Ring Tones) or choosing the Bitrate of the MP3, choose variable, as this seems to save quite a bit of space.

Thank you. I'll try.

Getting another Duo card is something I'll have to do anyway once either 64 or 128 become available. however, If you get a 64 that still allows you only one cd storage.

I'll try the souncutter.

I tried the soud cutter, but it's not an app. for Mac. There has to be a radical way of reducing file sizes on a Mac enviroment...mmmm but how?

dont know about macs, but i have an ipod and i heard people use Music match juke box for there music needs....try MMJ...

Convert mp3 to mp3 pro, it will reduce the files to half the size.
P800 support mp3 pro and the quality is great, I can't hear any difference.
It's better than downsampling the standard mp3 files.

Just try it for all yourself.

Soon there's bigger memory available.

ack. i very much dislike mp3pro and MMJB.

When i get my P800 i might consider making an ogg player. Better quality at all bitrates compared to wma, mp3 and mp3pro.

Are you sure it supports mp3pro, the files will still play even if it doesnt, but you wont get the improved audio quality... they will play at 80/96kbps mp3 if pro is not properly supported....

It would be great if someone would do a hack or something to enable playing wma or other formats.

Wma would indeed be great! You dont loose too much quality and its alot smaller than mp3. Better still SE should make those larger duo cards available soon! 😊

I agree with everyone one , i also need the 128 M duo but most of all where can we get an extra battery,as it is without playing mp3 i have to charge my phone everyday!

It's not getting the extra battery that is the problem, every SE dealer has one, we rather need a charger that will charge the standby battery at the same time as it charges the phone.
That'd be something I'd buy.
