I think the BBC services are only available in the UK (as the UK taxpayer pays for them), so you have to reside in the UK to use the iPlayer.

Did you buy your N96 elsewhere?
Chances are you can find the iPlayer in Download! if you connect with a UK SIM card..

I'm in the uk, and I have a vodafone branded N96, I can't see where to download iplayer either.

Same i got mine in the Vodafone store and is branded, however it come without the app and its not on BBC's website where it was supposed to be on the 1st October. (today)

Yup thats where I saw it, not very good if they have delayed it or something. N96 hasnt turned out to be what I thought so far. Might have to get something else.. I think if you buy it from Vodafone you get 14 days, thing is theres notihng else out yet I want, i8510, not on vodafone though. C905 is coming out, but back to bog standard software..

I installed the BBC iPlayer from a link right here on www.allaboutsymbian.com. Initial start-up is a little laborious, but once the app is fired up it runs beautifully. I'm connecting over WAN, and I am a little disappointed with the compression ratio, especially after watching the pre-loaded videos from Nokia and the BBC which were stored on the internal drive.

However, lovin' it so far.

Has anyone found a way to make it work from outside the UK ? 😉
It seems that the content is blocked when you are not in the UK.
