In this Electronic News article about Sendo's Microsoft court case they say that Sendo has traded through it financial difficulties. They are currently redeveloping their Z100 smartphone using the Symbian Operating system and hope to release it in the second half of this year.

It would be a bit cheeky them calling the device the Z100 as that was to be the name of their MS Smartphone but if they do its a nice touch. I really hope they can come up with a device this year but we all know how reliable release dates are.

The article is really about the MS using delaying tactics in the Sendo court case by trying to move the prosecution from Texas to Washington. This would move the trial back from November! I have to admit I'm losing faith in any case against MS coming up with a significant result.

More details of the phone have been published in this ZDNet Sendo article. It does not give away many details apart from confirming it uses Series 60. They plan a SDK in March with a full devoper kit including test hardware in June. I'm not sure what extra features they have that require a different SDK from the Nokia one?

It seems that they are having far fewer problems developing for Symbian than Smartphone 2000 😉
