Wireless problem

Hi,

I am using Nokia N95 for 10 months and I have the newest firmware installed on it.

Starting from one month ago I have big problem with the wireless connection. The problem is that sometimes I can find the WiFi network but sometimes not, even if I am surfing from the same range. Other WiFi devices are working perfectly on that range. Even my N95 says that it's very good signal on that range when is working. And that is not only with one WiFi network, that is happening every time and everywhere. Sometimes, also while I am surfing I will see note that I am disconnected from the network and I don't have connection for 5 minutes, and after that on the same location I will find the connection again. It's going crazy, isn't it? 😊

Please help 😊

Greetings,
Nikola Todorovski

I have been putting up with my N95 dropping its wireless connection for some time on my home network until yesterday when I finally got it sorted. From doing some googling I found two options both of which worked for me.

1. Disable "Power Saving" mode in connections/wifi/advanced
2. Switch router from being high speed (250mbs) Mimo mode to "b/g" only

I tried 1. first which appeared to work, but didn't like the idea of using unnecessary power so I re-enabled Power Saving and changed my router set up as described in 2. Now getting solid first time connections that don't break - very happy now.

Hope this helps.

Firstly, thanks for this, it no longer disconnects 😊

Unfortunately I have another, related, question.

I have a hidden WLAN with WEP or WPA/PSK (I've tried both).

I have it set up as an access point and it works perfectly if I define it as a connection for the browser or any other Internet app. However, if I turn WLAN scanning on it mostly just says "WLAN network found". If you start browsing it then asks for the WEP or WPA key. If I wait about 2 minutes it seems to properly connect to the WLAN. Is there any way to speed this up?
