I'm a new user transferring from N95 ...
Has anyone got TomTom working on an N96 yet?
Software installs, but does not launch.
I read elsewhere that copying the contents of the card accross works to the mass storage would make it work - it didn't for me.
I'll call TT technical support in the morning (it's 8pm GMT here) - there's nothing on their website, just wondering if anyone has had any luck fixing it themselves?
Thanks!
I can guess what TomTom's response will be! 😡 "That model is not listed as supported..."
No-one has got it running on the i8510 yet either, so I wonder whether it might be an FP2 compatibility issue (I hope not - I would rather like to be able to carry on using it when I get an N85!)
Based on the post here:
http://forums.mobilefun.co.uk/gps-satellite-navigation/359-nokia-n96-tomtom-help-2.html
Connected phone in mass storage mode, copied entire contents of my working SD card into phones mass storage.
Set date to 08/08/2007 set certificate check off (as per above link)
Copied "TomTom-NAVIGATOR_S60_3_0_v_6_0_1_7640_PA.sis" into a separate folder (called "My Install Packages" if you must know!)
Unplugged phone from USB, ran TomTom-NAVIGATOR_S60_3_0_v_6_0_1_7640_PA.sis.
Installed, working and maps activated.
i have tomtom 6 working on my n96, i copied all the folders and files over to mass memory on n96 then re-started the phone and went into apps and the red hands were there, clicked it and it launched ok, "BUT" it is slow and laggy and its very difficult to put in an address or postcode, i also use a Nokia LD-3W external gps reciever. tomtom 6 worked MUCH better on my n95 and n95 8gb

I agree, it is much slower on the N96, it's not unusable though.
