im new to this.. but i just upgrade my firmware on my N95 to V13.0.003 rm 159 😊i have had no problems with this version dispite reading bad reports about it

If you were going to the bother of upgrading the firmware why not upgrade to the latest v30 ?

From memory there were many dissadvantages of v13 namely

1. Lack of demand paging which meant the phone was very unstable generally and especially when running more than 1 program

2. Slow to boot up - from v21.x onward boot time ws approx 30 secs, should be faster than previous firmwares

3. No flash support when browsing - severely limiting the look of many web sites, could not use YouTube

4. And then there were the drastic improvements in camera performance and quality - I could go on.

Are you sure you upgraded to v13 as I would imagine it would be a difficult firmware to locate (unless its your mobile provider that just isn't up to date), are you sure your not on v30 ??

Could be the latest version that the service providor has out. NSU upgrades to the latest firmware available for your model's product code. Only other way would be to debrand and upgrade that way.

i used the nokia software updater and this is all it gives me V13 .. how can i get V30 any one?

You will need to debrand your phone, see here:-

and then update your phone, see here:-

Only one word of caution, debranding could void your warranty. However I believe it's worth it to get the latest firmware, which in your case is V30, as there are a vast number of improvements between V13 and V30.

Any posts I have read from people who have to get a warranty repair some time after de-branding have said it was never an issue - don't think I've read anywhere that it has ever turned out to be a problem - I'd treat the warning as theoretical rather than likely 😊

Definetly worth doing, not as scary to do as you might first think.
