New update on N82 problems

I updated the firmware on my N82 to the V20 I have noticed a few things I am not happy with.

Sluggish when going from one screen to another, tends to be a bit blocky.

Photo's are grainier and the pixel size of a photo is now smaller ie before update picture size was approx 1mb and after update approx 800kb

The screen tilt is to sensitive

I would rather go back to the older version, is it possible to be able to do this?

Regards Mick.

Not really. A Nokia Care Centre might be able to do this for you (for a fee), but using NSU on your home PC cannot downgrade firmware on any N-series handset.

By the way, I assume you did not restore a PC Suite 'Backup' or Memory Card Tool 'Backup' after the firmware upgrade?
If so, this is probably causing the system instabilities you listed above. (In which case, do a PC Suite Synchronisation, then format the internal memory with *#7370# then run PS Suite Synchronise again to recover your contacts, etc. NEVER do a restore after firmware upgrading. Finally, please note that you may need to manually install any apps deleted by the internal memory format process).

And isn't there already a v30 firmware for the N82? Presumably with more fixes than in earlier versions like v20.

Hi Dez... I don't quite understand, I have not done any restores or back ups, all I did was do an upgrade to the V20 firmware, am I supposed to do a back up and then format the internal memory then do a restore?

No, you should never Restore a backup from PC Suite or the Memory Card tool.
PS Suite Synchronization is safe though.

If all else fails, it might be worth removing your memory card, format the internal memory and see if the handset is more stable.
