The E90 Communicator hits v300!

Howdy all

So if this new v300 variant is around, how come when I go to the Nokia Software updat program it tells me I am already at the latest variant of 7. something ?????

Anyone know yet if v300 firmware is hackable to install unsigned apps? Waiting to upgrade mine but not if no hack available yet,cos heard nokia was locking them down. Thanks hope someone can help with this.

E90 back from Nokia fixed and with the 210 FW on board. At least it turns on now. The first time I hooked it up to PCSuite (which was the NSeries version) it invited me to update to 300.34.84! Went first time without a hitch with the factory Product Code - 0552464.

I do notice the various improvements, though the old chestnut is back in that it won't connect to my WLAN at work - I thought we'd got past that one! Strange that it connects perfectly at home to my secured network but this completely open/securityless one at work just won't hook up. I've had this with various S60 handsets over the last few years - and so have my colleagues. N93 and N93i are two that spring to mind.

Anyway, I'm really pleased to have my E90 back - how *could* I have strayed?!

Anyone else find that the GPSd version of Tomtom stopped working after the 300 update? Clicking the Tomtom icon does nothing. (and yes i've re-installed several times) :?:

Hi, mine doesn`t seem to want to upgrade, it`s telling me there is nothing newer than V212.02 03-10-2007

I have tried reloading the upgrader from Nokia`s site

is it because i have an older model?

Any help greatly appreciated!

There are ways round this if you're happy to play with NSS and change your Product Code instead of waiting. The 300 FW will get to you eventually! Read my experience above about playing with Product Codes. Beware. But it is possible if you want to take the risk.

Thanks Tim, guess i`ll just have to be patient on this one!

So, did it get around to you yet Matthew ? I'm a 0552464 and NSU tells me I'm up to date with 210.

Not yet..

Still trying!
Are you on Vodafone too by any chance?!?

Matthew

My E90 RA-6 is still on version 07.24.0.3 (12-06-2007) 'cos it's an APAC Generic.

All this hoo ha about upgrades sucks big time because someone is too slack to release the update to my phone!

No, on O2 but I bought mine sim free in any case. Argh. Want update ! Want want !!

Rachael

hehe.. me too.. i`m trying to be patient, thought i was in luck when Nokia updated the updater (so to speak) yesterday, but still no joy... I`ll let you know if any joy..!

M

Still waiting.. wondering if i`ll ever get the update now

Well it`s 2009, i reckon the update ain`t gonna happen.. any way i can find out?

Matthew

It's April 2009, and still no sign of the 300 update for me 😞

For those still waiting for the update, I couldn't get it a couple of weeks ago but just have done now. I'm on O2 in the UK.

Unfortunately I now cannot restore my data to my phone - the main PC Suite window shows my phone as being connected, but when I click the backup icon it says no phone connected.

Hmmmm.
