Star Wars N-Gage monthly competition begins, replace your DVD player with R2D2!

While we're on the subject of Star Wars, you may like to know that the official Force Unleashed N-Gage site has now opened its video competition where you can win various SW goodies including a remote control R2D2 with built-in DVD projector. As far as we can tell, you have to upload a video clip showing how you would "N-Gage/engage the Force", whatever that means. The entries for each month are shown on the site, and each month two of the entries win a prize, with non-winners automatically entered the next month too. All the monthly winners then go into a grand draw in March 2009 to win R2D2. (There's also a separate text-based contest where you write how you would "N-Gage/engage the Force" in order to win another load of 'Wars stuff.)

Read on in the full article.

They really ought to advertise this contest a bit more, the compo has some great prizes but no one knows about it because it launched after the site did.

There's only one video uploaded so far (and it seems to be a test one) so if you want some free Star Wars booty you might want to upload an entry yourself.

Here's my suggestion: download and install the app which makes the N95 or N82 sound like a lightsabre when you move it about thanks to the accelerometer:

Tzer2 I wanted to ask you if the dull screen problem on the n82 can be fixed by Firmware upgrade? because i am thinking to purchase it and if it is possible then there is something to hope for!!! also is the n82 screen really bad ??? please answer !!

As far as I know the "dim screen" problem on the N82 wasn't fixed by the recent upgrade, but I don't own an N82 so I'm not sure about that.

If you're looking for a similar phone you might want to consider the upcoming N79 which has very similar specs (no Xenon flash though):

It's also N-Gage compatible.
