I am planning to buy a white colour E71. I have 1 question... if anyone can help me..it would be great to help me make my decission.
(Am moving from a blackberry 8800)
1. If i configure 2 email account throught the native email client on the nokia e71 and have it fetch my email every 5 mins....Will i be able to receive the emails completely Silently without it Vibrating or making a Sound as i prefer to check at regular interval myself. Though i still want my Calls and SMS's to Vibrate and Ring.
2. What are my other options for PUSH Email as it does not support Blackberry Connect. - I dont mind paying for a service , cause i was paying for blackberry service anyways.
- I am only looking at shifting because of multimedia capabilities...My other option is oterwise the Blackberry 8320 or maybe if i streatch my budget..the BOLD( but i;m gearing about some problems with the BOLD)
suggestions / comments please.
I will only really MISS FACEBOOK app.
1. Yes, you can turn off the alert for emails (as a group, not for individual accounts), but I think if you turn off vibrate it turns it off for all alerts - including voice calls
2. Mail for Exchange is OK, not great, but free. You can sync all your PIM content with a hosted Exchange service (I user sherweb.com for $8/month).
Nokia Push Email now support 6 mail accounts. its still on beta and free...when its Graduated from Nokia labs you will have to pay.
Seven is a free multiple mail account service for Push email.
Thanks a ton... Am giving SEVEN a try.
Only thing still remains is that Nokia Still only have a UNIVERSAL VIBRAE ON/OFF, you can individually turn vibrate on/off for email , sms and phone....
This can be irritating, especially when i;m in a meeting and keep my phone on vibrate, then when the phone vibrate, i wont know if its an email or sms or call, till i take it out...
In my Blackberr, if the profile was set to VIBRATE ONLY, then if it were to vibrate, i know its either a call or sms...or simple turn off all vibrates except Phone calls, that way i know thats its only a Phone call - - I love this feature and in Nokia it can get irratating when so many vibrates in a day...
hhhhmmmmm.....might just opt back to the BOLD or hold on for the STORM or BB 8900...now that they have multimedia features worth tallking about....BUT the E71 LOOKS GOOD !!! 🙄
Anyways trying SEVEN now....will come back with feedback.
Thanks for the help again !!
OH..does SEVEN dsupport Googls Apps Accounts?
Try the new beta of Profimail which supports IMAP IDLE. This gives you push mail from any server which supports the protocol (including Gmail by the way).
Profimail lets you have as many accounts as you like and it doesn't vibrate when emails come in. It has its own email tone which you can set to silent if you want. You can also mix and match so some accounts can use IMAP IDLE while others can pull on schedule or just manually.
Profimail also has the added advantage of rendering HTML email. Its not quite perfect, but its the best mobile email client I've found.
Can anyone help me with outgoing email setting with T-Mobile USA? I've been scouring the net to find an answer but to no avail. I have it working perfectly on my last WM HTC Kaiser but can't seems to get it to work on my E71. The problem has to do with where to enter my unique T-Mo username and password. T-Mo uses your mobile number follow by : (colon) and email account, i.e. 1234567890:1, 1234567890:2, 1234567890:3, etc. then password. I'm not sure if its your regular email password or the password when you sign into your T-Mo account. Any help to get this working will be greatly appreciated. Thx.
Repeating myself but:
...I gave up wrestling with Nokia's email...here's 2 solutions that just work, straight "out of the box":
EMOZ: http://www.emoze.com
Profimail: http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=profimail
The latter is superb...I cannot fault it. Its like having a desktop email client and is utterly controllable.
Also, you could try this....I tried the beta version and found it slow, but his looks way better: http://email.nokia.com/account/home.action
