i8510 / INNOV8 GPS Question

11 replies · 9,700 views · Started 13 October 2008

Does the Route66 GPS that comes with this phone have turn-by-turn voice intructions?

Is this software free for use forever? If not, is there anyway to get an alternative GPS software that have turn-by-turn for free on this phone?

Oh and, is it possible to listen to music (played by the cellphone) while using the GPS in a car?

Thanks in advance,
Jack

The software is not free to use... you can get a 14 day trial for the maps.. but after that you have to pay to keep turn by turn navigation..
Not aware of any other nav software that works correctly on the I8510 yet

srw985 have you used Copilot 7? You say it works on the i8510, would you say Copilot or Route66 is better?

Thanks

Grahame

NO decent GPS routing application, with turn by turn navigation, is free! The entire point is that you PAY to have turn by turn navigation. Google Maps will give you free navigation, but guess what - it's not turn by turn, as that would be a paid-for option! (and there's licensing issues which prevent Google from implementing it)

You're going to have to buy one of the GPS applications to get turn by turn, just as you would have to with any other phone!

I doubt it was free, it may of been pirated.
Piracy and Freeware are different things.

Or it may of been included with the phone in some special offer.

Copilot seems to work fine. Ive not really tested CoPilot or Route66 properly though. Ive only ever used the free trials on either of them.

TomTom is NOT free. Do not post any links to cracked / illegally pirated copies of the software here.
