As above - I had a look at the N85 of Friday in the Nokia store, London only to find the N85 had zero transition effects. After asking in store and searcing to try and turn it on - there was no option. I am very dissapointed - I dont see a huge difference over the N95 8Gb! ie FP1..
these were the effects that are missing:
Very strange. I have the N85 now, and mine does not have theis effect. I cannot see any option to turn it on either.
Don't need to dissapoint at all, Go to themes menu select a them which you are using and in options turn the theme effect on.
Effects are much batter then N96.

If I have understood things correctly the theme effects in FP2 are theme dependent (not device dependent). The N85 is probably supplied with different themes with other effects than the ones supplied with the N96. The N78 also has theme with animations - the Haze theme.

N85 supplied with same thems as N96 as i have both of them along with i8510.
As you seen in video same haze them shows diffrent effects on N96 then what it shows on N76. I've got same haze theme on i8510 but it has diffrent effects again so it is depend on the device you using.
Also you can see N85 theme affects by clicking the link posted in first post. Its a same black theme.
the n85 does have the effect and they are rather nice addition to the pack...go to tools- settings - general- personalisation-themes-general- click on left hand side options and chose to turn on the theme effects - you are done and transtitions are on 😉 hope it helped
Does doing this still screw up the themes icons like it does on the N95?
shouldnt screw up the icons no, leaves them the same but puts nice effects round them.
kontraband is right...it does not change anything, it adds nice effects and transitions to the icon. N95 is not capable of such theme effects so I am not certain to what exactly you would be referring. On n85 it does exatcly what it's supposed to- it works! Try it out you might like it
If you turn on theme effects within the N95 you get animated icons but they are default icons and dont always match the theme.
The N95 has Icon Animation which seems to be a different thing.

Yes you would be correct. In my experience it is a very different thing between n95 and n85 in regards to the theme effect. 😉
yeah, that totally changes what the icon is...
the N85 is more of a sparkle around the existing image and transitions between screens.
