Dr Jukka recently put 50 S60 WRT widgets on to his site for free download. There's a whole range of mini-puzzles and games that have, for the most part, been ported across from existing, freely available, Javascript versions. There are versions of old favourites, such as Same Game and Tetris, as well some less well known puzzles, such as Cohan Circle.

Huh, you missed it indeed, this is a weeks old 'news' Rafe but thanks for reminding us in your very brilliant fashion. The only problem is most opf this widgets are totally useless and will not satisfy even a 5 years old kids.
i have to agree with the first commenter on the value of these widgets. They are all pretty terrible to look at and generally a bad example of what is being developed for s60 these days. Drawing attention to these kinds of apps makes the symbian platform look tired and outdated. Please lets keep the focus on truly innovative apps for s60 that might actually excite consumers about the platform.
They're no worse than most of the games in the iPhone Store. 😊
I would argue that they are much worse that the games on the iphone store. And the reason for that argument would be that the even if many of the games on the iphone store may not offer more in functionality, they offer much more in terms of aesthetics and design. This is a huge component that seems to be all too often ignored by many s60 developers (games or otherwise). Aesthetics play a huge part in how enjoyable a game is, and to not address it seems to miss the mark by a long shot. I read all about symbian and many other symbian blogs daily, and I don't understand why there is so little criticism of how poor the look and feel of so many s60 apps are. I would love to see somebody address this instead of articles trying to figure out things like "do scratches on an N-series lens affect image quality?"
Are there any actually really useful widgets out there?
I've got the vue cinema one installed which I like, but I've yet to see anyone else use it for something worth while.
