I'm currently trying to decide which Email Phone I should get to accompany my iPhone 3G.
I love the iPhone for browsing and media but I've found it to be pretty poor for SMS, IM and Emailing, mainly due to the touchscreen.
I have a second contract which is due for upgrade in a week and I've been looking at getting something a bit more phone like than the iPhone.
My eye has been caught by a number of phones but after looking into some of them the initial enthusiasm has died down after seeing they lack GPS or they are just not very good.
I am now concentrating on the E71 or Blackberry Bold but I was just wondering what kind of applications are available for the E71/Symbian Operating System, I mean things like MSN Messenger, Games and other tools,
What are the "must have" Apps to download for a Symbian phone?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Chris
They are tons bro...what can i say?..it depend on the user and what he want to do in his Symbian device.
For messaging E71 is great and also give the E90 Communicator a try..brick and pricy but with huge screen and better keyboard.
I installed more than 35 application for my E90 most of them are totally free.
The ones that I have are:
Google Maps
Advanced Call Manager
PowerBoot
Calcium
Slick
JoikuSpot
I have a couple other backup Chat apps like eBuddy and Numbuzz but Slick is rock solid and perfect for my use.
I also have SimCity Societies and a few other apps/games that I can't think of now.
Must have apps for the E71 are interesting.
I came from Win Mob recently and found that some of my previous "must haves" don't exist (such as a nested Tasks app) whereas others are built-in already (such as a basic RSS reader).
The E71 is great, I really like mine, so give it a try for a few weeks before you start shelling out for extra apps.
So far all I've installed are
JoikuSpot Premium wifi hotspot app ($10 I think)
Google Maps (free)
Advanced Call Manager (free on the E71)
Wireless Presentations (free on the E71)
Fringo "Skype" client (free)
Xelnex call recorder ($15)
WeFi auto-connection manager (free)
X-plore file explorer (free with nags)
Handy Safe secure database ($30 I think)
