Is it me or has there been a large influx of spam over the last months?

There is a massive spam problem, though I cannot remember anything specific.
A good move would be to ban new users from giving links till they have posted at least 10 posts. Same for having a signature.
agreed. Although Id tend to make it 20 😉 The amount of times Ive deleted posts going 1, 2, 3, 4 etc (although not here as its less chat related)

Apparently there a new tidal wave of spam hitting forums in general.
At least Akismet is catching a lot of it.
yeah, it does seem to be picking most up... no worries... will keep checking over the place. 😉
There is a new version of vBulletin to install which is meant to be better at picking up spam too. Will try and find time to do this soon.
the mass influx seems to always be a name with 2 random alpha characters at the moment... I've lost count about how many have registered. :@
