The E71 reads me my messages but in a male voice.
Can I change to a female voice? I feel sure I came across this option but cannot find it now.

You're supposed to be able to change the voice under tools-Speech... I have two options on mine, Martin and Ellen but when i select Ellen its still the male robotic voice (not that the females is any better). So changing the voices isn't working on mine :/
However adjusting the speed and volume under voice settings does work. The default settings were too fast and quite for me.

If you select options in the speech settings you can select download languages which takes you to a Text-to-speech link on nokia's website where you can download voices. I downloaded the English (USA) language pack along with the Sandra and Jane voices and they're both working. Be sure to install the language pack first before the voices and i'd recommend installing to main memory. Also don't mind that the e71 isn't on the list of supported devices because i just did it and its working fine 😉

All sorted. Don't know what I expected really but the voices (male or female) are a disappointment.
Don't suppose you know if the E71 can do a photo slideshow?.

The E71 cant do photo slideshow..u need to pay for a 3rd party application "Resco Photo viewer" if u need that...it has editing and many other options too.

Yeah the voices are a real let down, it makes microsoft voice command on my winmo device seem like its from a futuristic movie!
