E71....doesnt pick up my wifi on WPA......home router

hi, we have 3 diff nokia phones at home.
2 of them work on the home wifi... with the router set up on WPA setting.

but my bros new E71 phone only picks up the connection when the router is set to WEP. he wants to use it on WEP.

but ive heard WEP is not secure....(we also have 3 other computers at home on wifi)
i dont wanna use WEP setting.

ive searched the net for help....nothing is working.

we basically want the E71 to work on wifi with the router set to WPA security setting.

the phone just says no gateway reply and sometimes says system error.
our other N series nokia phones pick up the wi-fi no problem.

can someone please help me. this is stressing the whole household.
How bad is WEP setting? can other people see what we are doing on the internet etc?

thanks.

(ive compared access point settings on a nokia that works and the E71...) all the same. but...still.....

WEP has been "broken" but so what?

WEP encrypts the data on the connection between your device and the router. So somebody would have to be within range of your router, crack the WEP, reconstruct the data... and for what? to read what you're doing?

Unless your up to something that really needs to be secure it's not a big issue.

I have WEP set, and use MAC address lists to prevent connections from other devices, which is easy enough to manage and AFAIK is plenty strong enough to protect my network.
