A while back i remember seeing a thread with a link to a website for a great silicone phone case i bought for my n95.
I want to buy that same case for my n95 8gb but i cannot remember where i got it from? This particular silicone case had a hard plastic screen cover that was removable from inside the case .
So does anyone know where i can find one of these as it must have the screen protector. I think i paid about 15 back then including p&p?

Hi Starbubble,
Do not buy the silicone case. It will eat up your battery and damage your phone. I had one on my phone and before the end of the day, my abattery was drained. I didn't have any apps running in the background. Also, it makes the slider very hard to open.
The silicone case will eat your battery?!?!?!?!?

So what do you guys use or what do you recommend? I work in the building industry so my phone needs 100% protection not only to keep it from getting filthy but also for protection incase it gets a knock or i drop it.
Come on you know what i mean someone out there must have a good case to recommend in a similar situation?
Any help would be grately appreciated before i kill my phone.
Thanks
I would recommend Krusell cases, you can found them on www.krusell.se.
hahaha... Silicone case eating up the battery..
I use Capdase.. you can search it up on ebay for Capdase N95 and will come up with a few entries.
Capdase fits on very well and does not use those ugly tracks that the other normal cases use (fits on like a glove).
bchliu thats the one buddy you hit the nail on the head there i knew it was something like capdase but just could not remember for the life of me.
Anyway whats all this about silicone cases eat up your battery? :con?
Thanks mate.

Who knows??? 😉
I used one of the hard perspex type ones when I was doing some building... was good for knocks etc but it did catch some fine brick particles in it... and left a bit of a scratch above the right softkey. Anyway, looks like you have found what you want.
If you do get the Capdase just be careful not to pull it out too often and back on.. (if you are, do so very carefully).
The reason the Capdase fits on so well is it uses some hard plastic on the edge of the silicone that smugs it against the wall of the phone.
If you pull out the cover a lot, it can break the hard plastic and the more breaks you have on it, the looser it will become. Otherwise, the case is fantastic and can last for up to a year at a time (compared to the crystal cases that lasts a couple of days before cracking..)
Received my capdase cover today for my 8gb and its the mutts nuts if anything better thean the one i had on my n95.
Thanks once again bchliu 😉
you're welcome.. hope you enjoy the case.. 😊
How is the battery life??? 😉
I think this must be one of those urban myths.
Actually my battery has lasted longer
no no no..
It works on the fact that it has high levels of anti-static abilities. This however, also sucks the electricty more from the battery (since it wraps around it).
Hence why you need to get a solar powered case next time so that you can also charge up on the go..
There is one available with LCD protection now too for the N95-1.
I remember many months ago that someone got a case for their N95 and it drained their battery because it was so snug that it held down one of the buttons constantly.

I dont know how that would work..
Theres basically two types of silicone cases that will work for the N95 - the crappy one that holds both the front and back together by tracks (and makes it look obese) and is extremely loose if not for the tracks..
or alternatively the Capdase which basically uses hard plastic to hold it front and back by the edges of the case itself. There is never enough pressure on either of the cases to be able to "hold down" a button at all on the phone. It would make more sense if the user accidentally put something on top of a button or had it leaning against something that will press it down..
In that case, its the same sorta thing for cloth and other soft cases for the N95..
I've never heard so much rubbish lol 😃 A silicon case generating enough static to actually drain your battery. 'Koff lol 😃
A case that catches a button is a more likely explination.
Static Pah 😃
Hey guys, I'm not crazy. The silicone case drained the battery bigtime compared to other cases. Proporta has a really nice case but too bad that one was interfering with reception. Every time I had it on, I could not make a call; once I took it off, the bars shot up! It has a clear front and black metal bottom. It was about $28 USD. Now I just use one I found online at SourcingMap.
