I ran across an ad in which the guy was selling his n82 for $180, called him up, we met, and the phone has a weird problem with the screen. It is extremely dim (can't see anything in bright light), but can see better when it's dark around (i am almost positive that trying to adjust the brightness won't fix it). Don't really know how to describe it. The backlight works alright. He told me he flashed it and that's when it happened (which i seriously doubt).Could it be a bad screen and the replacement would fix it? Or could it be something more serious?
Thank you, guys!
EDIT: just read this thread:

so, now i think the guy flashed it and put the wrong code in? is it reversible?
Wow I just got mine from Amazon a week ago, all I did was updater the firmware/software from 11.x.x to 30.x.x and my screen has progressively done this over and over. It will freeze up the phone! Or it will reboot itself. I've already got an RA number and am going to return it for an exchange with Amazon! Since I've only had the phone for 1 week and the problem has become progressively worse!
I don't want to have a constantly freezing phone nor do I want to keep having to pull the battery-- this is why I stopped using my AT & T locked & Branded N75!!!
I hope this is only a fluke. I will say this... when the phone arrived.. the air pillow in the backing box was flat and the Nokia box was freely moving about the packing box, I thought that the plastic within the Nokia box would have been sufficent protection but I guess not! 😞 Now back to the N75 until I get my exchange! boooo hoooooo
