In part 1 of this review of Nokia's new flagship, the N96, Steve Litchfield examined its performance, its pros and cons as a product. In part 2, here, he walks the reader through screenshots of the applications that back up the N96's unique selling points, from the new Video Centre to BBC iPlayer, noting a number of confusing points and inconsistencies on the way but still ending up with a positive impression. I am confused. Are you saying that the Navi-wheel has been disabled in the settings and can be enabled by the user or that its been removed permanently from the production handsets?

i have UK sim free version and it only as v10 firmware,v11 is not available to me yet
also i had no N-gage preinstalled but game files were preinstalled on the mass memory so once i got the app from n-gage they installed themselves
i'm finding it all a little strange why uk sim free v10 has no n-gage installed
so far i like the n96 but it needs a lot of work in future firmwares to sort out the small thing's what really do matter when you use you phone all day long

I have stress-tested the music, with 30gb of music in my library (all of a 16gb card and 14 out of the 16 internal). I have found that it is generally fine although with a library that large you do tend to have to wait a few seconds when drilling down into Artist / album etc. I have also found that if you play contsntly for over an hour, sometimes the track gets seriously distorted (like it's under-water). Skipping forwards (and/or backwards if you like) does solve the issue but I'm thinking it may be memory related. I'm fully expecting this to be fixed in the next version of FW...[very large hint to any Nokia R&D staff reading this]

Having said that, the quality of the sound reproduction is actually about as good as on any phone I have tried and a lot better than most.
