A question about stand-by mode

Hi all,

Previous Nokias have had a visible bar that moves down the screen with date, time and any received messages shown on it. I get the impression that my 6220 is trying to do this too but it is so dim I can't see it. Is there a way of brightening it up a little?

Thanks in advance.

My 5320 XpressMusic also shows that screen. Also it's almost impossible to read. It's too dark.

Don't know if you can brighten it up :con?

You can't brighten up the screensaver (when the backlight is off, it is off).

You can change the settings to keep the backlight on for longer, though (if you set the backlight timeout to be longer than the screen saver timeout, then the backlight will stay on even if the screensaver comes on).

And on most models a short press of the power on/off key will also bring on the backlight and show the screen without having to unlock the keypad.
