MemStick Duo

Hi!

I just got a reply from SONY Sweden that they have the 64MB available now at approx. 80 Euro. 😮

I just ordered one with 128 MB at shop.brando.com.hk .
It isn't available at present but is cheaper there (thanks to the good EUR to USD Exchange 😉 )

The prices at brando is the cheapest so far i think. The 64MB will be available next month, while the 128MB will be available by April. You can preorder it now 😊

EU-citizens should be aware that buying from a supplier outside EU will propably bring you some extra costs, as there are a 15 percent customs (on electronics) and another percentage for VAT (16 percent in Germany).

I don't know exact regulations, but I recently bought some parts in the U.S. via Internet and this is what I had to pay.

The 64 mb DUO sticks has been around for quite some time now in Sweden.

Can someone explain to me the differeces between the 2 memory stick i got in the box.

1. The small one goes in the back of the phone?

2. Is the long long one? What can i use it for?

I would like to know if there is a smaller one with more memory which i can buy.

Hi Dave,

isn't the 'long one' actually the adapter to convert the Duo to a normal sized Memory Stick for use in other Sony products etc?!!

Ordered the Sony Magicgate Memorystick 128MB DUO from a friend that works for Sony here in Norway, he promised me the chip delivered on thursday. 98Euros

Will confirm if it works on the P800, just like opheim confirmed the 64MB duo.

Will also take some screenthots of the actual size like opheim.com did.

The picture shows an 'ordinary' MemoryStick, wich will not work in the P800 (WAY too big, like the P800-enclosed adaptor. Maybe someone can solder a cable for external MemorySticks 😉 ). Look for 'MemoryStick Duo' - and carefully compare pictures - only they will work.

I spoke to the Komplett shop in Sweden, and they confirmed that they do indeed have all three sizes of the new Sony MagicGate Memory Stick Duo, as mentioned on their websites.
As for the pictures on the site, they don't reflect the actual product... don't ask me why...

Komplett.se, *.no, *.co.uk, *.de and *.ie

Unfortunately they don't ship outside their respective countries, so if you are not residing in one of the above, then get a friend there! 😊

To be on the safe side, call them before you order... :P

hehe - Well the picture shows an ordinary MemStick yes, but the text says Duo.... - So that tell ME at least, they sell the right product, but dont have the picture of it yet... 😊
So - I'll keep my Duo in order, and wait..... - hopefully not too long now....

I just got an e-mail, saying the expected it in 14th of March... 😞

And I was starting to hope there would be some "Movie-action" for me soon, and a bunch of MP3s.... - but no.... 😞

Sorry!!! After opening the package it turned out to be a normal memorystick. My friend at sony said the order said DUO from Denmark, but somewhat ended up as a normal memorystick. Will investigate and keep you updated.
