Can you confirm that it works with the P800? What does MagicGate stands for? Is a way to copy protect media? Will it accept any MP3 or only those that you record yourself from a CD?

Just ordered me a 128Mb MG MS Duo from komplett.no too :bday:
And yes, Magic Gate works with the P800. Search the forum for proof and answers to your questions.

This is the one I've been holding out for. But boy is it expensive.
I already preordered the 128MB MS Duo from Brando. They say it will be available on April. I know its a long wait, but at least ill be one of the first they will deliver to. Cant wait to get my hands on it 😊
www.dustin.se is cheaper on the ordinary 64mb duo...but they dont have any magicgate yet :-?

I've emailed Komplett asking them to verify that they can actually deliver and that this isn't just another pre-order scheme.
Well, given that SonyEricsson's own Memory Stick Duo road map doesn't show the 128Mb stick being available until April, I can't see how Komplett (.se or .uk) can claim to be able to source it in 5 days....
Can someone explain to me the differeces between the 2 memory stick i got in the box.
1. The small one goes in the back of the phone?
2. Is the long long one? What can i use it for?
I would like to know if there is a smaller one with more memory which i can buy.

THere is no memory reader that can read the duo sized memory and that is why they give you an adapter so you will be able to insert into a normal memory stick reader 😉
Hey gals and guys, I have just enrolled into both a Norwegian and Swedish classes just so I can read both languages and in about 4 years from now I will be able to make my duo memory stick purchase :P

Quite correct...
They emailed me back saying "This item is not in stock, we don't have any information about the shipping time."
I take it that they don't have any 128 mb chips available and won't have until everyone else have them.

I've ordered my 128MB Duo some days ago, but got an e-mail now saying they expect (not confirmed) it in-stocck 14th March... geee 😞

Sorry, this turned out to be so WRONG. After opening the package (which was gonna include the Magicgate MemoryStick Duo 128MB, it turned out to be the wrong chip. I only got a normal memorystick 128mb (as I have from before for my Sony TRV900 Cam). This is terrible news, sorry if I misguided you.. Called my friend and Sony, and he will investigate.

It's just that I'm not too far away from where you are (Stockholm) so I'd be quite upset if you could get the 128 mb stick over there and I couldn't get it over here. 😉
1) I think that everybody should learn Norwegian.
2) Expansys have the 64MB duo NOW!!
We wait for the 128Mb ( & of course, the phone sim-free )
Sorry, this is not a P800 Duo Stick! It's for digital cams only.
To confirm news I received direct from the folks at Sony Japan...
128MB MS Duo to be released on March 28th.
Currently not available in Japan or elsewhere.
64MB MS Duo is in production and available but stocks limited.
