Update on Plantronics Bluetooth Adapter for 7650

I have been in email conversation with Plantronics regarding their Bluetooth adapter for use with non-BT (and non-BT audio) phones, to see if it would work with the 7650.

The device is available for the US market but not the UK so I was wondering if there was any technical reason why I should not buy one from over there and use it over here, the people I spoke to were very helpful, but unfortunately no joy. Here is a transcript of their reply:

Hi Bob

Thank you for your enquiry, Unfortunalty the M1500 adapter is not and will not be available in Europe, primarily because the Bluetooth handset market is much more advanced in Europe than the USA.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information

Kind regards

Dear Bob

If you wanted to buy the M1500 adapter you would need to buy the M1000 with it in the USA along with a European plug adapter for charging. We do not recommend that you do this as we have very high powered GSM networks in Europe and you may experience buzzing with the USA product, you would be better off buying a Bluetooth enabled phone and a M1000

Thanks

Bob,

Unfortunately we don't have a solution that will solve your problem. However, there are a few mobile phone dongles in the market that you should be able to get hold of - I think Jabra offer one with their BT200 headset.

So no joy so far, as for the Jabra, I looked and again the product exists, but not for the UK market, I could be running round and round in circles on this one. So unless anyone else on this forum has any suggestion I am going to give up my search and settle for a non-BT hands free kit and wait on the next Nokia (not the 3650) that suits my requirements.
