Email issues — Nokia Eseries S60 3.1 Phones (2nd Generation: E51, E66, E71)

I have just got myself a very shiny E71, but I'm struggling with setting up email. I just cant quite get my head round it all...

When I use the wizard, the device creates an IMAP profile for my gmail accounts. There's nowt wrong with that BUT E71 either wants to "autoalert" (which keeps not autoalerting so is no use) or if I set a retrieval pattern it wants to download EVERY header...annoying...

...so after some gnashing of teeth I finally set up POP3 access to Gmail....one account works, one wont send saying "feature not supported"

Grrrr!

Can anyone point me to a tutorial or FAQ site that can help? Back using my Treo (which works superbly!) untill I find a better solution...

Shame...everything else is more than perfect!

Download Emoze or System Seven or okia Email,,,,,they can be used as a push email too...and the setting is very easy and useful.....and free too.

Genuis!! Emoze won the prize...works like a charm! Now at the risk of sounding irratated and grumpy, why doesnt the normal email clinet just do what that does?!!?? I've had symbian stuff from years (since Psion 3c!) and they allways did go there own way re email....my ancient palm Treo is way better....(still....apart from Gmail it cant do half of what this amazing thing can do...and its shinier...)
