It's weird but sometimes when I tether my Nokia N95 using PC Suite on AT&T network, it will connect in 3.5G mode and sometimes it won't. When it doesn't connect in 3.5G mode it stays on Edge mode, little E in the corner and not the 3.5G icon. I am connecting from the SAME LOCATION @ at home every time as well. What causes this? Is there a way to force into 3.5G mode?

i have a similar problem except mine goes in and out from 3G to 3.5G on AT&T's network and when its on 3G there's basically no data transferring. When it switches from 3.5G to 3G it only stays like that for max 5-10 seconds but its annoying because it interrupts whatever I'm doing whether its tethering or browsing on my phone. Any suggestions on how to fix that?
OK Well I figured out that if you go into
Menu>Tools>Settings>Phone>Network>Network Mode
You can then change it to UMTS and that will force the phone into 3G and 3.5G mode..
When I do that mine stays in 3.5G mode at all times but I have only been testing it for about an hour or two and I haven't ran into the symptoms that your talking about yet.
