E71 - not finding signal easily once lost

I've just got an E71 on the three network and overall I'm very happy with it.

I live in a rural area and my last 3 phones including this one have all suffered from poor reception.

With the E71 I am finding that when I lose the signal completely it will take ages to find it again,sometimes not finding it at all.

However if I reboot the phone then it finds the signal straight away.

Does anyone know if it is possible to rescan for networks without turning the phone off and on again?

Try switching to Disconnected profile (flight mode) and than back again 😉

I think it may be a firmware issue...
try to configure your phone to use GSM on UMTS only and see if it helps...
For me GSM only works perfectly fine... but it's slower for data...

I had a similar issue today. I couldn't put the phone into Offline mode nor could I change the network preferences until I rebooted the handset...
