A New E71 Owner

Greetings! This is mostly a post to say hello as I picked up my E71 yesterday and I feel almost at the bottom of the learning curve. My last handset was a Palm Treo 680, great piece of kit for what it was, but couldn't cope with our Exchange 2007 / Outlook Web Access upgrade last week.

Prior to that I had a Blackberry Curve - great handset in many ways, just a bit, erm, inflexible. And not a very good writers' tool.

And now the E71. Feels a bit like... and I know why... my antique Psion 5mx, in a good way. The keyboard isn't as usable as the Treo (nor the Curve) and will take me a little longer to get used to... but excellent news; my Palm Wireless Keyboard works with the built-in SymbianOS Bluetooth Keyboard Driver.

Now let the writing commence...

...I know this is old but I feel I have to add to this. Am former 680 user and my thoughts are thus: Treo beats E71 hands down for messaging. Texting and emailing is so much better. I was using an email client called "Chattermail" and it is an order of magnitude better than the E71 client..... and its keyboard is way nicer to use... ...I prefer Treo's gallery app. Quicker and handles folders created on a PC..

Treo also friendlier...cant say how but it just is!

[B]but...

E71 beats Treo and EVERYTHING else! Seriously...have had the phone for 7 days and am still finding apps....is there anything it wont do? Opera Mini is extraordinary! And the old Psion multi tasking thing is still there....it really is superb...just cant believe how bad the email thing is....(also struggling with battery life too)
