As well as releasing the N-Gage application for the N78 and 6210 Navigator, Nokia has also updated the app to version 1.10.1345 for all compatible phones. To get the updated version: open the N-Gage app, select "Options" and then "Check For Updates", then select your phone model from the list and follow the on-screen instructions (don't worry about any messages saying you've already got the installer, just say yes to everything). There's no obvious difference from previous versions, but presumably it cures some behind-the-scenes bugs. Note that the new version is not compatible with certain firmware versions on the N81 or N81 8GB, check the official N81/N81 8GB download page for more details.

Read on in the full article.

By the way, if any N85 users have had trouble with the N-Gage app that came with their phone, try updating it to the new version and it should start working again. If you can't get the app to open at all, you can install the new version directly onto your phone by going to n-gage.mobi/d (no www!) on your phone's web browser and selecting N85 from the list.

I've updated the article to mention the N85 thing. For any N85 users who were unable to download the new version earlier, try again as it IS now available both on the mobile site and the website.

Oh no wait, the N85 version is back on the mobile site again!

If you go to the above address on your phone browser you should be able to get the updated app straight onto your phone.

It's very odd the way the app has come and gone, let's hope it's back permanently.

Just in case anyone's wondering, Nokia have now fixed all the various versions of their N-Gage site, the N85 update should now be visible on all of them including the "Check For Updates" page.
