Morning,
Apologies if this is in the wrong forums, please could one of the mods move it if it is.
This is my first post here and a bit of a Symbian novice and therefore grateful for any advice and/or pointers.
Last year I had a 6120 Classic which I really liked. Unfortunately I went swimming with it and its not been the same since!
Ive recently upgraded my mobile contract and now have unlimited web browsing. Id really like to take advantage of this and would like a phone with a reasonable size screen for browsing and email that has a full QWERTY keyboard (preferably slide out but not essential).
I would like to stick to a Symbian S60 device, if possible, as I really liked the S60 on 6120 Classic and the software and support that are available.
The downside to all this is I have a budget of about 150 (200 absolute, right on the wire max) for it.
What would be your recommendations?
Is it possible to get an older model phone and upgrade the O/S to the latest version (if required)?
Thanks in advance
MrG
Google the E63...donno if its released or coming soon but the price is very acceptable considering the features.
QWERTY with business software "Eseries" and 3.5mm headset...but the downside is: its plasticy...but if u r upgrading from 6120 then i think u r adapted to plastic phones and this dont make any difference for u...and sadly NO GPS.
You beat me to it: the E63 looks to be similar to the E71 but loses the GPS, high speed web access (still 3G mind you) and you have a lower stated specification camera rather than the E71's camera. It's also not as thin either.
I've just bought my E71 on a T-Mobile contract rather than wait for the E63. I'm happy with it, but the E63 has the features I need as 'phone cameras, meh not as good as the real thing and GPS, not useful.
Both the E63 and E71 have WiFi; probably more useful on the E63 as it doesn't have high speed 3G access...
You might want to consider an E61i. It's slower than the E71 and it doesn't have a GPS but its pretty good otherwise and VERY cheap on Ebay now.
Thanks very much for your replies.
I will definately look into the E63 and E61i and see what suits me the best.
Cheers...
