Ok so i have always wanted an unlocked nokia phone running on S60. Until now i have been affraid to purchase a phone outside of t mobile simply because of the insurance deals. Please help me decide who to purchase my E51 from and also help me understand what i can do to protect my nokia from water damage and physica damage. thanks

For insurance purposes, you can add handsets to home and contents insurance policies if they're not already covered; most are (as are notebooks and other portable computers). The excess will be higher than T-Mobile's excess but if you already buy home insurance, you won't need to buy more.
I keep my device - now a E71 - in a generic case. It's rain proof when wearing it but I wouldn't want to leave it out in the rain, or wherever. It hangs from a belt loop.
Have you broken handsets in the past through water or similar?
Well that's the thing. I have never needed insurance for a phone. I always treat my phones very well. But there is always that 1 percent that it could happen.do you suggest buying my phone from ebay or nokia. Com or anywhere else?

I've reached the conclusion that it's very difficult to beat the contract deals if you want a specific handset that you can get on a contract. I've bought the E71 via a contract but previous handsets have either been direct from the manufacturer or a well-known reseller just in case of any problems and being able to prove that I did buy it...
