Anyone else having problems with the camera? My shutter doesn't open (the one under the lens)
It was working fine, i went to use it the other day and it was sticking halfway open, now it wont open at all.
If you look very carefully when u turn the cam on u can see the shutter open slightly.
The shutter mechanism is quite flimsy and has probably got some grit / dirt stuck under it.
Try to gently push it open using your finger (GENTLY mind) to see if it's really stuck...
If that doesn't work, don't risk damaging the camera, take it to a service centre.
The lens cover you can manipulate with your finger but the shutter is behind the lens. I had an i8510 with this problem. Take it back.
My mistake for not reading closely enough... I was presuming the problem was the lens cover, not the actual shutter.
had the same problem...theres no way to open it manually....take the phone back and get a replacement.
I have to same problem! I just returned the phone today for repair. May be a weak point of the i8510?
I think this is a hardware problem, it has been investigated by Samsung, and will replace the hardware probably in next release.
this has happened to me twice now, is yours working properly after repair?
