I know this forum is just for us N95 users but does anyone know of any plans Nokia have for jumping on the 8meg camera bandwagon?

as these chip-sets are becoming available next year.. expect a HUGE jump in camera quality.
What I would like to see them do is similar to the Sony c905 one LED and one xenon .. oh and toss some optical zoom in for good measure. 😊
oh and how about a better battery so we can actually use that better camera?? THANKS!
the rumor from nokia is that 2009 will have the 8mp camera. however dont count on a bigger battery. i imagine nokia has crap in their design-team ears and just cant get it together to use larger batteries in their power intensive smartphones. they are like little children designing some of these phones, same mistake over and over, rinse and repeat.

If you can fit a 1200mAh into a phone smaller than the N95-1 then there is hope. Hopefully their touch screen devices will be better on battery life than that other touch screen phone.
Again the new chip sets are better all round .. expect big things in second half of 09. 😊
you too can have an 8mpix picture from your N95.. in fact you can have any amount of megapixels from it.
Just take a standard 5 mpix picture and blow it up using photochop.. and you can make it any size you want.
Not being a smart ass in this - but you will find that a lot of the output is not the same level as the CMOS that it really has and "interpolates" it out to a larger megapixel..
So really what is the purpose of 8 megapixel phone when the quality is probably not as good as a 3 megapixel camera? It really is hard to justify if you think about it deeper..
Another point being the real need for an 8meg camera when 90 odd percent of images just sit n the phone and are viewed through the screen. 8 meg images could realistically be blown up to a decent size, but who does that?
Anything larger than 5mp is too much for me. I would rather they improve the lens hardware and cmos sensor keeping the mega pixels at 5mp.
