Hi I have a few questions about the E71:
1) Is there a way to mod the phone so that it can keep record of MORE than just 30 Received/Sent/Missed calls?
2) How's the battery life? I have the E61i and it would die within 1.5 days. I blame the screen resolution for eating up batts. Would 3G make the battery life worse? (I use AT&T)
3) Can the camera flash be used as a flashlight?
4) How is the speaker quality? when i put my E61i phone to my ear it's realllly dim and quiet compared to other phones. people have made comments they could hardly hear the other person. does the E71 have this issue?
Thanks!
Hiya,
OK this is MUCH better than the E61 (not sure about the E61i though).
I had the E61 before this and I loved that phone - this is a good margine better.
1) Not sure about this, there are advanced call manager programs out there thoyug that you can download - this should hold more info for you.
2) battery life - if you use this just as a phone and note taker / camera i get about 5 days out of it between charges - more if i turn it off at night.
I often use the internet and RSS on it a lot and it still gives me a couple of days good use, without the continual worry i had with the E61. I use this most days as a camera, mp3 player, to check the net and to make calls - and i don't have to charge it too often.
3) there is no program that i have seen which allows you to use the flash as a flashlight - but you can get free ones that make your screen glow at the brightest level.
Anyway - I'd get it if i was you - a lot of improvements over the E61 - if you liked that you'll like this.

1. No, the default software limits it to 30 days, which is enough. There might be some other software that can do it, but I doubt so.
2. Battery life is amazing. I have my phone on the Internet 24/7 (push email), and bluetooth (for the car audio handsfree) and I get almost 3 - 4 days of use. You should not have any problems with the battery life.
3. No, and making your screen full bright for extended periods of time will just reduce its life. I don't recommend it.
Btw about #3, S60SpotOn (google that, first hit) is able to turn the flash led on and off to use as a light, but I warn you, A) it's not as bright as you'd hope, and B) the flash led life has a limited time life, using it as a flashlight will make it wear quickly.
