Finally got time to update FW on my E71-1. Restoring from SD made quite a mess, but after performing a hard reset and taking the steps to install application all over again almost all is in its place again.
Only problems I have encountered so far is:
* Calcium wont install - changing date does not do the trick anymore
* Windows live does install, but won't start up
Anybody succeded with this apps after FW update?

Sorry for the lengthy mail, but hope you can help me to resolve your issue
Could you please provide some details
1) Type *#0000# and paste the information to this forum
2) Does the applications you have backup-ed is DRM protected ???
3) Is it that the data present on the memory card didnt restored properly to your phone????
4) What about the data that was present on your phone memory? Does it got restored successfully???
5) Have you checked the acknowledgement provided by Content Copier after it restored on your phone?
If only your memory card contents are not restored try to restrore only those contents alone again to your phone so that duplicates wont be there. Since you can select only the content which you want to restore option, kindly restore which was not restored earlier
6) On your own risk you can try for an application called noki, which will be useful to view the contents of your backup file. You can download it from http://nokisoft.com/
7) Kindly give the versions of the PC Suite you have used, PC Operating details, Service Pack, Connectivity you are using on your phone USB, Bluetooth etc.,

What i tried : backuped around 540 Mb from memory card, formatted the memory card restore the same backup file into the memory card using restore option of Nokia PC Suite of same firmware 100.07.06 no problem at all but i have not checked in different format
I was wondering based on what the new firmware has, have you seen any real improvements? So far it doesn't seem to be worth the hassle of losing the unsigned ability and having to reinstall everything from scratch....
Well I have solved the issue with Windows Live. It was missing a "support paskage" Suppose the installer is on the card, but I was not aware it was crucial.
Calcium - I suspect the ny FW is equiped with functionality to exclude piracy and unsigned apps to the extend tha Calcium is excluded - probably because it's not developed further I thin for tha last two years.
I have started using Handy Cald which is pretty much the same, but not free...
I restored from card, but the phone became a complete mess - problems starting apps, resets....
...so I installed all from scratch and now its working fine. Just one little problem. Psiloc Connect doesnt seem to switch seemlessly between 3G and WiFi anymore....
