The main question here is is it hackable ?
😉

Can't be hacked with Hellocarbide, the program quits as soon as Menu1 is clicked

Gonna try drakkarious

UPDATE: Drakkarious 3.01 doesn't work either.. 😞

I cant see any difference with the update.

Anybody know what it is supposed to have changed? Considering its such a big download, I really cant see anything new other than a couple of new trial games on n-gauge.

Same..

Didn't spot any differences on the menus, folders, etc..
No menu animations (at least in the available themes and one that i installed)
Active standby has the same options

I noticed it a bit faster than it was previously, but it may have been due to the format

Guess the major difference is the "no-hack" option ^^

If someone here understands something about photo quality should check if there are any improvements there as well

All that I was looking forward to was a Media Gallery menu like the n96 one.. That lets us separate photos by date, location, folders, etc.. I don't like all my photos in a bunch, takes forever to find what i want.. but no luck there

thanks dude,

let us know if you can install xplore and check
if anything inside z:

binpda certificates working or not....

The only change I've noticed is that the labels on the icons/folders are in bold... that's it.

Surely there's something else done in this update to warrant it's huge size...

Is it just me or has the iPlayer application stopped working? I can install it fine but when I load it up and select my access point, I just get the iPlayer logo and the bar at the top and the help links at the bottom 😡

I messed around and reinstalled bbc iplayer after the firmware upgrade but didn't try it.
This last repy has prompted be to check the iplayer on my phone and I cant get iplayer to work at all. Im just not getting anything up on the screen other than the iplayer beta logo and the Home,TV, Radio and Search tabs none of which actually do anything.

Guess I should have stuck with v30 software.

Not really. I was having that problem with the v30 firmware. Now I've upgraded to v31, my iplayer is working again.

is this for the standard n95 or the n95 8GB?

Don't update to this FW if you use a Rebel SIM. It'll kill it.

For those who don't know what a rebel sim is, it's a little circuit board that slips under your normal sim and unlocks the phone, enabling you to use any sim in any phone. It's an alternative to permanent unlocking for difficult to unlock phones such as the N95. They're a tenner off eBay.

They're legal, but the phone companies and providers hate them.

Anyhoo, since the update my N95 is giving a sim error in a phone that's been working fabulously with one for two weeks.
Rebel cards are actually FW upgradable themselves, using a programmer (15 off eBay), so this will be sorted soon.
In the meantime, does anyone know how to downgrade an N95???

Cheers

by using pheonix a software upgrade can be reversed, however i must stress if not done properly your phone could be bricked.

there are cracked versions of pheonix available its much more powerfull and more functions than the normal nokia updater.

Thanks Gallous,
Downloading Phoenix now. Knowing my luck I'll brick the bastard, so I'm going to TRY holding off usimg phoenix until my Rebel programmer comes.
Patience...

Hmm, I have code 0634B41, the phone is a generic nokia n95-1. Yet I still cant upgrade yet.

Anyone else? Is this just a USA thing?

It's an RM159. Whatever the case, it wont upgrade :P shame as I was hoping for things to speed up with the update. It crawls along with several hundred text messages

What does this exactly mean, does it mean if a phone has version 31 firmware it cant be unlocked for use on all networks?

Reason i ask is because i have a N95 with version 31 and need it unlocked, i have asked some local mobile phones shops and told them its version 31 ( as they ask what firmware it is), some say they can only unlock models prior to version 31, and some say they can unlock it regardless of what firmware it is.

I need to know as i wouldnt want it bricked, can anyone who has version 31 confirm if they have managed to successfully unlock it from a phone shop.

Have you had any luck with the Rebel Simcard? I got mine this morning, updated the firmware to the latest version and it is still not working.

Seems all I have read says you should not attempt downgrade of the N95.
