Looks like my i8510 has died, after just under 3months. Battery hadn't been keeping a charge all week and I'd manage to just about keep it alive until last night, battery died and when I plugged it in to charge nothing. It isn't recognising the charger is plugged in.
Tried all the usual, taking battery out etc but no joy. :frown:
Thankfully I took out insurance on the phone...
Dont use your insurance, use the warranty, otherwise you will probably get charged excess and it wont help getting insurance in the future.
Don't know if you have the same problem as I had, but my phones charging/data jack point died. I tried to get it sorted under warranty but got the usual CPW reply "its water damaged or has been dropped" - and I know for a fact neither was true. It meant I could neither charge it nor back up all my data either including my paid for R66 maps. I didn't have much choice but to cough up the excess on the insurance and start again. My problem happened gradually over about 3 weeks though whereas yours sounds a bit more sudden? I'm being extremely careful now not to put any strain on the charging/data connection as I do feel it could be a weak point.
I had the same problem with my phone not charging. think it has to do with an after market car charger that i bought which loosens the socket! i had the socket replaced the first time and plugged it straight into my car charger to charge up and now it feels loose again and only charges if you have it plugged in at a certain angle. But i think they updated the software while it was away for repair and everything seems to run a lot quicker now!! still think i prefer my old n95 for ease of use and good old trusty nokia support!
The socket is loose on mine and if you pick it up while charging it will keep beeping "charging / disconnect charger..." until i keep it completely still. very annoying.
ive only ever used official samsung cables that came with the phone.
Got my phone back after a week, was repaired under the manufacturer's warranty, will be really careful with it now...
Took mine for repair and Samsung said they cannot repair it.
Going to have to go through Carphone now.
