ICONS on desktop- Change

Hi
I have some icons (Shortcuts) on the desktop which I dont use much. How to get rid of them and get in their place applications that I need?
Please help.

If you're referring to the active standby apps, then yes you can change them...

go to
settings - general - personalization - standby - active standby apps

you can assign your most frequently used apps

settings - general - personalization - standby mode- active standby plug-ins

and choose from the list whichever I wanna be on the desktop.
