Hi all,
I'm currently overseas and a scary thing just happened. Basically I was sending an email using the inbuilt Nokia messaging app on my E71 via wifi and included a large 8mb attachment. Suddenly when sending the phone said it was unable to send email and then something about it being unable to access memory card and switching to phone memory for messages. Asking me if I wanted to copy messages I said no because I want to continue using my memory card.
Now all my stored sms from the inbox/folders are gone, and no matter what I do (switching phone off/on, using offline mode, ejecting memory card, changing memory in use for messages to phone memory and back, etc..), all the settings are gone too (even for email mailbox settings!). It's as if it reverted to default like when I bought the phone new. That is, Gmail settings are gone, as are all the stored messages!
Can anyone help?
It's a bit similar to what I've found through Google: http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/discussions/board/message?board.id=communicators&thread.id=24359
Thanks. I really want my messages back- email settings I can recreate but I'm inclined to think everything is still stored on the memory card. Note, it's a 2gb card with 1.5gb free so I doubt it's out of memory.
Cheers
jc
