Ok looking for an application to view videos. I often obtain avi's from the net and would love to see them on my N85 without transcoding.
1. Is it possible ?
2. If so what application do you recommend ?
3. I would also like seemless playback via the TV out Cable. Is it possible with your recommended application ?
4. If it is NOT possible . What transcoding specs would you recommend. E.g. mp3 audio with 160kps bandwidth , mp2 video with 1500kps etc.. 560 x 780 resolution etc......
Best Video Application - N85
I use Coreplayer on my N85, it plays all the following video formats
H.264 (AVC), MKV, MPEG-1, MPEG-4 part 2 (ASP), DivX, XviD, WMV*, Theora*, Dirac*, MJPEG, MSVIDEO1
The other day I hooked up the phone to the TV and watched a James Bond movie. You couldn't even tell the difference between a DVD player and my phone, very good quality picture and sound. Amazingly I still had 4 bars left on my battery after watching for over an hour and a half.
There are two problems with Coreplayer though
1. The menu's within the application are not very user friendly.
2. it ain't cheap... it cost 29 but I have yet to find a file that I can't play.
In reference to my points 3 and 4.
Does Coreplayer support TV-Out ?
Does it support the 700Mb video avi files you find on the web ?

Yes. The TV-out is a phone feature that transmits the sound & screen currently showing on the device.

Yes, so long as they are not more than 1008 pixels in either dimension.
