FLAC on cell phone

hey thanks for the reply.
after doing lots of research i went and got me a sony-ericsson g900.
fairly cheap in a contract deal but with all i wanted: symbian uiq3 os that allows me to tweak all, syncs perfectly with my addressbook and agenda on my mac and has a great handwriting recognition (writing eg. sms is so nice and fast with it, beats everything else i know)
got me coreplayer that runs fine, and can smoothly play flac-files.
and alas! what a difference to shoddy mp3!! i love it! 😊

AFAIK oggplay does not play flac. Coreplayer does, but it's not free. Like stated before, you're better off with a high reate mp3. Then use LCG Jukebox to play them, it has the best sound quality and the option to just play a folder, instead of fudging around with some library that need to be refreshed every time you put some new music on it and so on.

Well i don't agree.
A battery last for only a few hours. There is litle reason to have memory wich last much longer on file playback time.

4Gig mem will give you 12-16 hour of playbak time.
when playing 1 hour a day (traveling to work) i have to update my flacs only every 2 weeks.

That the hardware is not fit to get the all of the flacs potential is apparently of no issue. : Most phones do support WAV

What supporting flac on you phone could mean is not having to keep 2 files on you disk for just 1 track.
